The 1962 Italian historical adventure film "Cezar protiv pirata" was directed by Sergio Grieco. Produced by the Italian studio C.A.P.R.I. in collaboration with Dubrava Film, this cinematic release transports audiences back to ancient Rome. For the production, 'ancient' thatched huts were constructed on location in Povile near Novi Vinodolski. Additionally, the Martinšćica shipyard in Rijeka refitted two traditional bracera boats and a trabakul barge to resemble Roman galleys. Filming also took place in Jablanac, with numerous locals from Novi Vinodolski cast as the pirate extras.
