The film Il mio corpo per un poker, also known as The Belle Starr Story (1967), was produced by Eureka Films, Mercurfilm, and United Productions International, in collaboration with Jadran Film. The movie features the Croatian actor Vladimir Medar and is famously recognized as the only Spaghetti Western directed by a woman. Filmed on location at Grobnik Field (Grobničko polje), the Opatija area, and the Plitvice Lakes, it follows Belle Starr, a dangerous, fearless, and skilled Old West gambler who attracts trouble wherever she goes. After losing all her money in a tense poker game to the cunning outlaw Larry Blackie, Belle wagers herself as the stake for the final hand. An explosive chemistry fueled by attraction and betrayal sparks between the two stubborn rivals, quickly drawing them into a dangerous alliance. Together, they plot a risky heist of precious diamonds while both the law and rival gangs hot on their heels.
