The 1958 Czechoslovak-Yugoslav musical comedy "Zvijezda putuje na jug" was directed by acclaimed Czech filmmaker Oldřich Lipský, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Jiří Sila and Vladimír Škutina. The plot revolves around a Prague jazz orchestra heading to Yugoslavia to perform at a music festival, only for their lead singer to get lost en route. Brought to life through a co-production between Budva-based Lovćen Film and Prague's legendary Barrandov Studios, the film shot several key scenes in Rijeka utilizing 170 local extras. These sequences captured the orchestra's arrival in the city and their subsequent departure aboard the prominent coastal ship Jadran. Production also spanned other scenic Adriatic destinations, including Split, Korčula, and Cavtat.
