Set in the aftermath of World War II, this narrative follows Vladimir, an OZNA secret service captain assigned to crush a faction of armed royalist rebels led by Major Momir. Infiltrating their ranks deep in the forest, Vladimir successfully poses as a fellow insurgent. However, his cover is compromised when Jelka—the daughter of the rebels' primary local harborer, Stanko - uncovers his true identity. Complicating matters, Stanko has promised Jelka's hand in marriage to Momir against her wishes, leaving Vladimir gripped by fear that she might expose him. Produced by Jadran Film, the feature was shot on location across Gorski Kota, specifically utilizing the viewpoint below Drgomalj, the Kupa Valley, and various areas around Delnice to double for central Serbia. Local residents of Delnice were cast as extras, and the film eventually celebrated its Yugoslav premiere at the town's local Partizan cinema.
